What is a High Conflict Divorce (HCD)?

When the ex partner's sole intention during the divorce process is cruel, spiteful and to deliberately make things difficult for you.

There is no regard for the children's well being and the conflict often continues well past the first year of separation.

Examples of a high conflict divorce:

  • Makes false allegations.
  • Outbursts when things don't go their way.
  • Counter Parenting- intentionally working against your parenting.
  • Gaslighting- uses manipulation to make you question your reality.
  • Deflects their behaviour onto you and makes false accusations.
  • Tries to enforce power and control over you.
  • Unable to take responsibility and blames everyone else for their behaviours.
  • Verbal, physical, emotional, psychological and financial abuse.
  • Quick to blame "Parental Alienation" by you.

It only takes one person to make a divorce high conflict
